The RCHS Class of 1978| | July 2008 Our three precious baby boys have arrived! They were born this morning (7/14/08) at Plano Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, TX. Baby A - Joshua Prescott weighed in at 4lb 14oz, 17 1/3" and arrived at 7:52am Baby B - James Michael weighed in at 6lb even, 18 1/2" and arrived at 7:53am Baby C - Isaac Thomas weighed in at 5lb 1.4oz, 18 1/4" and arrived seconds later also at 7:53am Mom, Dad and babies are doing great, but are still a little tired (not much sleep last night!). The babies are doing so well, they will not need to spend any time in the NICU! We get to have them in the room with us and have fed them several times already. We are so grateful and blessed. Everything could not have gone any better and we have been told we are the talk of the hospital! We praise God for His goodness to us! Please forgive the delay in getting this out to you, but we've been pretty much non-stop all day long. Thank you so much your prayers and support! Love, Jay and Karen (Krouscas) David and the boys | | | | | June 2008 A note from Becky (Cross) Kristiansen: A lot of change for us in the last few months. Wedding was March 22, 2008 in Southern California. Below are two wedding photos, one of us and one with our baby, Dixie (The Cocker Spaniel). My husband, Lars and I have just relocated to Australia for his job in April. He is the Food & Beverage Manager at the Corporate office for P&O Australia, the cruise line here. I will be keeping house and be looking to volunteer at some local organizations shortly | | | | | | April 2007 A quick note from Brian Hoegsberg: Wow, class of 1978 (seems like a long time ago!!). We are currently living in Saudi Arabia - I'm working in the Finance group of the national oil company, Saudi Aramco. We've been here a little less than a year. Life is good in Saudi Arabia - we live on a compound that includes the office, housing, schools, recreatinal facilities, golf course, and restaurants. My wife, Yvette, and I have three boys ages 12 (Tyler), 9 (Tommy) and 6 (Andrew) - they all love it here - lots to do and great schools. Hope all is well with RCS - I enjoy seeing the occasional newsletter and wish that I could attend one of the annual Peter Branson memorial basketball games - one of these days, I'll have to make the trip to the Bay Area around Thanksgiving and show off my quickly deteriorating BBall skills! | | | | March 2007 Dear Redwood Christian Friends,
Just wanted to send a picture of my two oldest, Amber - 18, and Jake - 15. They are both in a renaissance singing group called "The Elizabethans," and they dress in the manner of Lords and Ladies for their costumes. I'm so proud of all my children, as they are all musically inclined. Amber made it to the second round of West Virginia Idol and will be singing the part of Maria, from West Side Story, in an event called "The Follies" this | | year. Jake is an avid trumpet and sousaphone player, taught himself the keyboard, just finished teaching himself basic guitar, has been practicing on an electric guitar, and now wants one of his own. The twins, Kelli and Megan, 12, will be entering Junior High in the Fall. Both play the ukulele, sing in the school choir and want to join in on all of the same activities that Amber and Jake are in, when they enter high school. Amber will be graduating this year. She has been accepted into West Virginia University with a full PROMISE Scholarship (all four years' tuition), due to her excellent grades and participation in school. She is also the recipient of the Mountaineer Scholarship, which gives her an additional $6,000 for college expenditures. We think that there are more on the way and we get so excited with each envelope that we open. Amber was inducted into the National Honor Society in 2006 and has given upward of 200 hours of community service during her time in high school. She has won awards for her time with the Speech Club and Thespian Club, as well as serves on her student council, and is Vice-President of the Senior Class. Amber is also in the top 5% of the graduating 2007 class. What can I say? Sometimes you just have to show your pride.
God Bless you all, Lori Eakin | | | | October 2006 Cindy (Callahan) Tennison is still working for Bethany Schools in Bethany, OK as a special education teacher. Her husband, Ron, works for Dade Behring repairing medical equipment in hospitals around OK and TX. Emily is soon to be 14, and Eric is 11. They recently vacationed in Orlando, FL and visited DisneyWorld and the beach at Destin, FL. Cindi's mom (Caroline Callahan) passed away suddenly this past February. Caroline used to be secretary at Redwood Elementary in the 70's. Cindi would love to hear from any classmates or former members of New Horizons or Royal Choir. Her favorite memories of Redwood are the choir tours, playing Mrs. Locksley in the Bicentennial play with Eldon Barnes, cheering for Monique Telehala at her track meets, hanging out with Monique, Becky Cross, and Mary Manglona, and teepeeing Mr. Monk's and Mr. Johnson's houses! The pictures were taken at MGM Studios in Orlando. | | | | | | | | August 2006 An update from Lori (Mangiapane) Eakin says, "I can't believe it's already been a few years since our class reunion. I'm still with Aegis communications Group and I just got back from a 14 week business trip in Bangalor, India. My life is very busy with work and my family. Amber, 17, will be a senior, Jake, 15, will be a sophomore, the twins, Kelli and Megan, 11, will be in the 6th grade. We also have gained another child, Katrina, 17, who has lived with us for more than a year. Jake isn't always pleased with being the only boy, right in the middle of two 17 year old and two 11 year old girls, but he makes the best of it. On this trip to India, I went to the Taj Mahal and I rode an elephant, and I could write a book of events to catch you up, but instead, I will sum it up for you. I'm happy, healthy, and very blessed. I hope everyone has been as fortunate as I have been. Even when things in life seem rotten, God was always there taking care of me. I wish you all the best. The pictures above are me in the office in India and me in a sari with colleagues." | | | July 2005 Cindi (Callahan) Tennison is working for Bethany Schools, in Bethany, OK. Bethany is actually a suburb of Oklahoma City. She writes: We have a residential pediatric hospital across the street and I work with the children there. They have severe-profound disabilities, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, etc. Some are accident victims that have had brain trauma. I handle all of their IEP paperwork, assessments, and quarterly monitoring. I'm really enjoying it. I never dreamed I would be doing this, but God has his own way of doing things! My daughter, Emily, is 12 now and going into 7th grade. My son is 9 and going into 4th grade. |
| | | December 2003 Lori (Mangiapane) Eakin is a trainer at Aegis Communications, Inc. and will be traveling to India in 2004 in connection with her job! Amber will be playing the trombone in the East Fairmont High School Marching Band at the Gater Bowl this year! Jake plays the trumpet, and the twins are aspiring artists! |
