Redwood Christian
Enrollment Information
We hope we have piqued your interest in Redwood Christian Schools! You are to be commended for taking the time to make an informed, prayerful decision about one of the most important aspects of parenting –your child's education. (Deuteronomy 6:7 9)
Your interest demonstrates your concern for the education of your child. Redwood Christian Schools seeks to be an extension of the godly training and values taught in your home. We firmly believe in the ministry of worship and service in the local church. Our goal is to work with you and your church in educating your child. After reviewing the information on this web site, please prayerfully consider whether RCS should be your "School of Choice." If you have further questions, please call the District Office at 00-1-510 889 7526 or e mail Superintendent Bruce Johnson at BruceJohnson@rcs.edu.
A Parent's Part is important too!
God has given parents the responsibility for the discipline and instruction of their children. They are to train each one diligently in God's truth. (Ephesians 6:4; Deuteronomy 11:18 21)
Parents who select Redwood Christian give our faculty and staff authority to teach their children during the day. The school assists parents in teaching truth to their children and in training them according to biblical standards. (Psalm 34:11; Luke 6:40)
Parents enrolling their children in Redwood Christian Schools invest authority in the school to discipline their children as necessary. They agree that they will cooperate and discipline their children in the home as needed. (Deuteronomy 6:6, 7; Proverbs 29:15, 17; Hebrews 12:11)

New Student Admission Fees and Requirements
For enrollment by a foreign student, two applications are needed: The Foreign Student (I-20) Application and the Application for Admission. Please note that a TOEFL score of 400 or better for grades 7-8 and 500 or better for grades 9-12 is required to attend RCS.
Both applications along with a non-refundable enrollment fee totaling $500 ($200 enrollment fee and $300 foreign student application processing fee). If changes in an I-20 RCS has issued are needed there will be a $50 fee.
After Acceptance, the I-20 will be issued upon RCS receipt of:
1. Either the full tuition (a 2% discount is available if paid by June 10 and by check, cash or money-order) or one-third of the full tuition. If the latter is selected, the balance is due in two payments; one-third by October 10th and the other third by February 10th.
2. The $100 SEVIS I-90 fee. This fee is mandated by Congress to support the program office and the automated system that keeps track of students and insures that they maintain their status while in the United States.
NOTE: The only way the prepaid tuition will be refunded is if the I-20 is denied by the issuing country. Written proof is required.
Tax-Deductible Contributions
Tuition and fees cover basic educational costs, such as salaries, administrative costs, building and equipment maintenance, utilities, classroom expenses and transportation. Parents are encouraged to give toward the General Fund, the Memorial Fund, the Tuition Aid Fund, the New Equipment Fund, and the Building Fund. Tuition Payment Policies and Procedures
Please read this carefully and file it with your tuition payment booklet as your financial obligation to Redwood Christian Schools.
Redwood Christian Schools was founded in 1970 as a faith ministry that would not be 100% dependent on tuition funds for its operating expenses. Funds for the operation of Redwood Christian Schools come from four main sources: tuition, free-will gifts (donations), fund-raising projects (e.g., Jog-a-thon) and programs (e.g., Extended-day CARE).
Because tuition does account for over 90% of Redwood's income, our budget hinges greatly on tuition being received in a timely manner. Enrollment and promised tuition have a direct bearing on the hiring of teachers and staff members for the upcoming year. You can imagine the position in which the school and our employees are placed when tuition is not paid as promised. Teachers are hired on an annual contract, and we must honor their contracts. In the same way, a commitment to pay tuition for a Christ-centered education at Redwood must be honored. Prompt payment demonstrates personal integrity.
